How to Use Pokémon TCG Set Lists Before Choosing a Set

Choosing a Pokémon TCG set can be easier when you know what’s in it. A set card list lets you browse the cards associated with a release before deciding whether its Pokémon, artwork, and themes interest you.

What a set card list can tell you

A set list is a checklist of cards associated with a Pokémon TCG release. Browse the card names and artwork, and check card numbers or rarity details where they’re shown. It’s a useful way to compare sets and spot cards you’d be excited to collect.

How to use a set list

  1. Start with what you enjoy. Look for Pokémon, characters, illustrations, or themes that catch your eye.
  2. Compare a few sets. A checklist can help you see which set feels most interesting to you before you buy.
  3. Check the product listing. Once you’ve picked a set, confirm the product type and pack count before ordering.

A set list can’t predict your booster pulls

A card appearing in a set list doesn’t mean it will be in any particular booster pack. Booster packs contain random cards, so no specific card or rarity is guaranteed unless a product listing explicitly says otherwise. Use the list to explore a set, not as a promise of what you’ll pull.
